Why use an independent Lighting Consultant?
Just a few reasons why I believe that using my services is more cost effective:
Many people who need a lighting scheme designing generally start by asking a contractor to organise this; and then this request is passed along the supply chain until it reaches a lighting manufacturer who will generally produce a scheme for free. So why pay a consultant to produce one?
- A single lighting manufacturer seldom has a complete range that is suitable for every single project that they produce a scheme for, so invariably they use what is their closest offer to the ideal, which may not be particularly appropriate; and therefore results in either a sub-standard or unnecessarily expensive scheme.
- There are many lighting manufacturers to choose from and their products can vary greatly in quality and cost; and the lighting industry (from contractor through to manufacturer) has many partnerships and alliances; people and companies are naturally biased towards other people or companies for one reason or another (not necessarily bad reasons). So you cannot automatically rely on getting the good quality (and good cost) scheme that you seek; as it will probably depend on who you initiate your lighting design request with as to the quality and cost of product that will be proposed for the scheme itself. Therefore, using a good lighting consultant who knows the best suited and best value products in the marketplace will save you money in the overall scheme of things.
- As I deal with many lighting manufacturers, I have a very good grasp of which products of each manufacturer are most effective, energy-efficient and competitively priced; and therefore I can mix and match several manufacturers’ products to deliver the best lighting solution and at the best price.
